Biomedical Engineering (Bachelor)

Biomedical Engineering is at the interface between engineering and medicine. Its objective is research into and development of appliances, procedures and systems for early detection, diagnosis, therapies and rehabilitation of diseases. The spectrum ranges from tiny implants via cardiac pacemakers and heartlung machines to room-size computer tomography systems. The objective of the bachelors course is to train you to become a graduate with a wide range of engineering and scientific skills. Here interdisciplinary thinking is promoted which will enable you as a biomedical engineer to develop innovative technical solutions for complex medical tasks. In addition you will acquire skills and experience in handling modern measurement and testing techniques and in independent processing and presentation of scientific projects. Apart from extensive elements of physics, mathematics and chemistry, selected aspects of electrical engineering, materials engineering and economics are included in the course contents.
