Digital Health (Bachelor)

The digital world has become a reality in all areas of life. Healthcare is no exception. Computer science is now a tool to help us become and stay healthy. For all this to work, it is necessary that any relevant information about the patient, the patient's medical condition and treatment can be reliably accessed by medical professionals.

In this study programme students learn, among many other things, to answer the following questions:

  • How does the health care system work? How can we support the different players in the healthcare sector (physicians, nursing staff, etc.) with digital technologies?
  • How can medical staff, in addition to their regular work with patients, meet all requirements for documentation and information?
  • How can we organize the flow of information in a secure and efficient manner?

During their studies, students will learn to shape the digitalization to the benefit of the patients. For this purpose, they will become familiar with typical data processing systems and acquire the ability to develop or configure such systems.

Social skills (such as working in teams) are essential in today's professional life. We place great importance on building those skills well, because our graduates should be able to serve as a mediator between technically oriented people (such as computer experts) and the health professionals. Our students will be optimally prepared for their professional career. This is guaranteed by practical-oriented education in combination with up-to-date technical equipment and individual support in small classes.

The study programme is taught in german language.
