Mechanical Engineering (German Diplom Degree)

Mechanical engineering is the core of industrial production in every highly developed country. The mechanical engineering sector produces the machines and equipment necessary to produce anything else. For the German economy in particular, the maintenance and development of this sector ishighly significant. In the course you‘ll acquire the knowledge and skills to enable you work in all branches of mechanical engineering and automotive production. Subjects include design theory, technical mechanics, electrical engineering/electronics, engineering mathematics, measurement technology and applied informatics. Starting in the 4th semester you can specialise in machine design or in production engineering for mechanical engineering and automotive production. Depending on your major field of study, you‘ll have job opportunities in development and design as well as in testing products from the whole range of mechanical engineering and automotive production. Other opportunities exist in development and design for products in electrical engineering/electronics, precision instrument engineering, automotive production and industrial robotics. A career in specialist consulting is also possible.
