Traffic and Transport Engineering (German Diplom Degree)

Modern traffic systems are the lifelines of our mobile world. In the Traffic Systems Engineering course, you will learn how to develop traffic concepts and traffic systems, design and measure traffic facilities, and organize transport and traffic processes operationally. Road and rail traffic are dealt with in depth.

Since you, as a prospective engineer, also have to apply knowledge from other disciplines, the training program is very interdisciplinary. In order to be able to implement traffic concepts, social skills are also required. Team work, argumentation and presentation, but also independent problem solving are therefore an important part of the training.

The course is characterized by a practical semester in which you can apply the knowledge you have already acquired and learn new skills. In the mobility semester, you can also take electives or visit another university in Germany or abroad to acquire specialist knowledge or gain experience abroad.

The course concludes after eight semesters with the academic degree Diplom-Ingenieur/in (FH). After that, you have the option of taking a master's degree, for example Road Traffic Engineering.
