3. For what purposes and on what legal basis will your personal data be processed?

Your personal data will be used in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Saxon Data Protection Implementation Act (Sächsisches Datenschutzdurchführungsgesetz) and all other relevant data protection regulations. This data is collected in order to check your eligibility to receive the BIDS Partial Scholarship at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau as well as to comply with our obligations to provide information to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the role as funding body. The data processing is carried out in response to your application and is necessary for the processing of your application in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. b GDPR for the aforementioned purposes.

4. Who will be processing your data?

Your personal data will be passed on to the persons and offices entrusted within the UAS Zwickau with the specific task of awarding the scholarship.

Furthermore, we are obliged to make the following data available to the DAAD:

  • surname and first name
  • country of habitual residence
  • school at which the higher education entrance qualification was obtained
  • start and expected end of studies at the UAS Zwickau

5. What data will be collected and how long will your data be stored?

The following data will be collected when you submit your application:

  • surname and first name
  • birthday
  • country of habitual residence
  • school at which the higher education entrance qualification was obtained
  • Email address
  • start and expected end of studies at the WHZ
  • uni-assist application number
  • personal data in the curriculum vitae
  • personal data in the letter of motivation
  • personal data in certificates
  • personal data in proofs of language skills
  • personal data in proofs of extracurricular activities

We process and store your personal data as long as this is necessary for the fulfilment of our contractual and legal obligations. If the data is no longer required for the fulfilment of contractual or legal obligations, it will be deleted in due time.

6. What rights can data subjects assert?

You have the right to revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time for the future. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation is not affected by this.

In addition, you are entitled to the following rights if the legal requirements are met:

  • Right of access to personal data concerning you (Article 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectify inaccurate personal data concerning you (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure of personal data (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restrict the processing of personal data (Article 18 GDPR)
